Lasting Power of Attorney
A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) lets you choose someone you trust to make decisions on your behalf if you ever become unable to. It's one of the most important legal documents you can put in place — and it's not just for older people. We help clients across North Devon set up both types of LPA, in person or at home.
Two types of LPA
There are two types: Health & Welfare (covering decisions about medical treatment, care, and daily life) and Property & Financial Affairs (covering money, bills, and property). We recommend having both in place.
Why it matters
Without an LPA, if you lose capacity — through illness, an accident, or dementia — your family may have to apply to the Court of Protection to make decisions for you. This is expensive, time-consuming, and stressful. An LPA avoids all of that.

How much does an LPA cost?
The cost of LPAs starts from £250 — this is for one type for one person. We'll confirm the exact fee in your initial meeting once we understand your requirements. No VAT is chargeable.
